2nd edition of the school on non-linear optics in fibers and in integrated optics>

General informations

Following the success of the school "Non linear optics in fibers and in integrated optics" organized in 2023 by the GDR ELIOS, we have the pleasure to prepare the second edition of the school in 2026.

The school will be held on 27 september - 3 october  2026 in the island of Porquerolles, in the south of France.

It will take place at IGESA center,  Rue de la Douane, 83400 Ile de Porquerolles

Registration :

The school is limited to 60 participants.

Applications will be organized in two campains :

First campain : open from  May 19th to July 1st  - Answer to candidate on July 5th at latest

Second campain if remaining seats are available : August 25th - September 5th  - Answer to candidate on September 10th at latest

You will receive an e-mail with the status of your application.

IMPORTANT : To register, please provide your contact information in the Registration form of this website + send a motivation letter to attend the school at elios2026@sciencesconf.org.

Registration fee :

Registration fee is 750 euros. It covers full accomodation for the duration of the school on the basis of a shared double room, lunches, dinner, coffe breaks.

Position of the school  :

The same optical concepts govern the nonlinear dynamics observed in fibers and in integrated photonic structures, whereas these two fields were initially linked to distinct scientific communities. The GDR ELiOS was thus created in 2020 with the aim of structuring the French community in the field of non-linear optics, and it is in this scope that this thematic school is placed.

Aim of the school :

The course program is structured around 5 themes listed below :

1.                Basics of non-linear optics

2.                Photonic integrated platforms and optical fibers

3.                Supercontinuum sources, frequency comb generation

4.                Lasers (fiber, integrated, near-IR, mid-IR, mode-locked, pulsed…)

5.                Applications: spectrosocopy, metrology, AI, quantum optics,
